“SHE DEN” Coffee Table Refurbished and Beefed Up to “MAN CAVE” Status

from JustFineTables.com

Just Fine Tables has finished Refurbishing and Beefing Up what had to have been a “SHE DEN” Coffee Table to “MAN CAVE” status. The now “MAN CAVE” COFFEE TABLE is like the one we posted here about 3 weeks ago.

"Man Cave" Coffee Table with Hidden Flip Top Storage and Lower Shelf

However, this newer Man Cave Coffee Table has a Made In America Wooden Slat Bottom Shelf rather than the metal shelf shown above.

(Hey!, there was no bottom shelf with the “She Den” Coffee Table when Just Fine Tables originally found it. We had to do something. We are just guessing that the ?woman? who had the coffee table before kept the metal rung shelf to hang up her …things?)

OK, we know you are wondering why the Refurbished and Beefed Up coffee table has been referred as a “She Den” Coffee Table. Well… when one opens the lid to the hidden compartment, your olfactory nerves will detect a slight, but pleasant perfume aroma. Seriously!

[NOTE: We thought about overpowering the perfume aroma with a Man's Cologne like BRUT or STETSON, but decided against it. We have found that most 'MAN CAVE' items are purchased by women for their man. So with that, we decided to leave any odor modifications to the individual becoming the new owner of the coffee table.]

This Newest “MAN CAVE” Coffee Table with Hidden Compartment Storage and Wooden Slat Shelf arrived at ENCORE RESALES Consignment Store in Pelham, AL this morning. Enjoy!

FARM TABLE- Thick Pine Top with Antiqued “Old Country Chic” Legs and Skirt

Repost from JustFineTables.com

Completed the Big FARM TABLE that we had been discussing in previous posts. The final design became a Farm Table with a Distressed Thick Pine Top ( 37″ x 54″ ) providing plenty of elbow room for up to six (6) people to enjoy dining with comfort.

HANDMADE in America FARM TABLE with "OLD COUNTRY CHIC" Legs

The Thick Pine Top Farm Table Top was matched with some bigger than normal turned table legs off a table given to Just Fine Tables last year from a former neighbor (Enjoy Greater Atlanta, Ga. friends). We kept the legs (and still have the table top to build one or two kitchen islands with later) until we decided to build a table that we considered would look good with big legs.

Since Just Fine Tables enjoys experimenting,, we decided to modify the coloring of the legs from our typical black to something more shabby with a look representing an age of about 100 years. We feel we succeeded in our Antiquing of the table legs and skirt and have coined a new coloring scheme name for our antiquing, “Old Country Chic”.
[Note: To truly appreciate the "old country chic" look you must be near the table to appreciate. The picture above does not show the uniqueness of the 100 yr old look.,]

Since debuting the Thick Pine Top FARM TABLE at ENCORE RESALES, Pelham, AL, we have received several pleasant comments about our coloring and that we should incorporate our new look, “Old Country Chic”, in some of our upcoming projects. We appreciate the compliments and for you, “Yes!”, we will be doing that on some.

SAW HORSE TABLE – DESK and WISCONSIN CHAIR Co. CHAIRS

Reprint Excerpt from JustFineTables.com

SAW HORSE TABLE-DESK (Similar to "Southern Living Magazine", Jan.2011 version)

Our newest Saw Horse Table-Desk has been delivered to our friend’s consignment store, ENCORE RESALES in Pelham, AL. The new Saw Horse Table-Desk is very similar to previous ones, but reduced in length by about 6″ per customer requests. Don’t worry! There remains plenty of table-desk top space. In addition, we at Just Fine Tables have improved the hard-to-build saw horses for extra strength and rigidity while maintaining the beauty of the Saw Horse Table-Desk’s pattern (i.e. “Southern Living” Magazine article, Jan. 2011 excerpted from sister magazine, “Coastal Living”).

When we delivered the SAW HORSE TABLE DESK to Encore, we also delivered Six (6) Black Matching Upholstered WISCONSIN CHAIR Co. chairs that we had recently painted and updated. The chairs are some of the best we have ever had an opportunity to work with. They were very sturdy (no wiggles at all) and the only thing we did not like were the antiquated seat covers. These we recovered with more up to date fabric. And, oh yes, we did paint the chairs black and applied our typical final finish of satin polyurethane.

The Wisconsin Chairs look like this:

Enough blogging for today. Got to get back to work on a couple of Customer Ordered Kitchen Islands and a couple of Spec Farm Tables.

Alabama Game WINE BAR – Man Cave COFFEE TABLE- “Maple Top’ FARM TABLE

A Re-Posting from JustFineTables.com today.

An Alabama National Championship Game WINE BAR, a Man Cave COFFEE TABLE, and a “Maple Top” FARM TABLE have found new homes since the beginning of 2012.

Just Fine Tables labeled the Wine bar as an Alabama National Championship Game WINE BAR as it was built for a customer wanting the custom wine bar for a group party he was giving for his guests as they watched and enjoyed the Alabama Crimson Tide winning the Championship. Note: The Wine Bar arrived at the party Just Before the Kickoff. Here is a picture of the Just In Time Wine Bar – Buffet Table.

Custom “Maple Top” COFFEE TABLE with Matching END / SIDE TABLES

A reprint from our Just Fine Tables blog (December 26, 2011)

Custom COFFEE TABLE with Matching END / SIDE TABLES (…ALL with Lower Shelves) were delivered to their new owner just before Christmas for them to enjoy over the Holidays and forward. The new custom built coffee table and matching side tables were ordered to replace an old existing ensemble of the same.

The Coffee Table and End / Side Tables are displayed below before being moved upstairs in their new home:

Custom MAPLE TOP Coffee Table with Matching End / Side Tables & with Lower Shelves

The tables were all built ’sight unseen’ based upon the customer’s desires and best thoughts for what the lady customer wanted. She knew the basic dimensions of what she wanted and that she wanted the tables to all have lower shelves for baskets and the like. However, she was undecided on what type wood top and stain color she wanted in the tables. In response to that question, we at Just Fine Tables offered her a selection by looking over past custom built farm tables. We asked that she look over some examples of past work to help in making a selection. She did! …and selected the Maple Top as the best example of what she wanted.

We at Just Fine Tables will check back with the customer after we return from a much needed vacation with our Texas based Children and Grandson to get the final determination if the Coffee Table and End / Side Tables met with her satisfaction. We think they will as her husband said that the new tables looked a lot better than their current ones.

Note: If we find that the tables are not what the customer wanted, we at Just Fine Tables will buy them back as we always want our customers happy with our work.

Custom Wine Bar & Custom Coffee Table Built and Delivered

A modified reprint from Just Fine Tables.com

Just Fine Tables (now located in Calera, AL) delivered a Customer Designed Wine Bar – Buffet Table and a Customer Sized Coffee Table with Lower Shelf this past week to their new owners to enjoy over the holidays and for years to come. Both items were built from scratch. Yes, they are virgin “Made-in-America” tables built by Just Fine Tables.

For the Wine Bar-Buffet Table, the customer requested an additional shelf for added wine bottle storage. The idea was to have extra storage at the bottom of the wine bar and that the typical upper shelf would provide immediate and easy access to current wine serving with an expanded area on the shelf for hors d’oeuvres, cheese, and the like. The Wine Bar-Buffet Table is pictured below in its new home:

Dark Stained Maple Top Wine Bar with Dual Wine Storage Shelves

For the Coffee Table with Lower Shelf, the customer requested that the table have a Rustic Looking Top (i.e. used & beat up) sized approximately 2′ x 4′ and that it have a Lower Shelf for some decorative and useful baskets. Note: This coffee table is the first one built by Just Fine Tables to have a lower shelf. The Custom Coffee Table is pictured below in its new home:

2' x 4' Coffee Table with Lower Shelf

It is truly fun helping customers to see their wishes completed and that they can continue to enjoy their wishes for years to come. Luckily, we at Just Fine Tables have more fun items to complete (3 table set [sides & coffee] with lower shelves , a bookcase, a bed’s headboard & foot board, and a “Step-up-to-be-Tall” Stool for our Grandson who will turn 1 year old Christmas Eve) over the next week.

Have Wished Everyone a Merry Christmas & a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

CHILD’S “Football Fan” ROCKING CHAIR

A reprint post from JustFineTables.com

On occasion, we like to veer off and do something a little different. In this case, we have updated a CHILD’S “Football Fan” ROCKING CHAIR that one of wonderful neighbors gave us.

Our neighbor’s son had definitely outgrown the rocker and asked, “Frank, would you like to have this child’s rocker?” I said, “Sure, I’ll take it and have some fix-up fun with it.”

Here is the Fixed-Up, CHILD’S “Football Fan” ROCKING CHAIR:

CHILD'S "Football Fan" ROCKING CHAIR

FYI, the Child’s Rocker was originally a natural oak color with painted ‘blue racing flag squares’ and it also had our neighbor’s son’s name scripted in the seat. We decided to get rid of the squares and certainly the scripted name so that the chair would work for any young football fan (girl or boy). As you can see, we painted it a cottage white and applied a finish for durability and longevity.

Please know that we like to have fun with our workmanship and we want it to be as good as, or better than, anything we would own.
